Celebrate & Learn With Us!
June is National Indigenous History Month – a month-long celebration dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary history, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people across Canada.
For the past three years, we have been on a journey toward Truth and Reconciliation. We have had the privilege of meeting incredible indigenous authors, including Nicola I. Campbell, Leona Prince, Monique Gray Smith, and David A. Robertson; and we’ve learned so much about Coast Salish culture through our Pow Wow Dance Workshops and Coast Salish Art Classes.
Celebrate and learn with us all month long with our Indigenous Voices – All Access Pass. Enjoy unlimited access to our entire collection of Indigenous Voices on-demand events and resources until the end of the school year.

Get Moving with Pow Wow Dance Classes
Pow Wow Dance
Unlimited access to 3 On-Demand Pow Wow Dance Classes
Shyama-Priya and David Whitebean from Wild Moccasins Dancers join us for 3 engaging Pow Wow Dance sessions. We will learn about jingle dance, grass dance, and fancy dance through guided instruction and viewing some pieces of the regalia.
We begin each class with a light yoga warm-up before being introduced to each dance style. The dances are broken down by low-impact movements, gradually moving to higher-impact steps. Together we will discover our own unique flow through the different pow wow styles!
