It's Indigenous History Month!
June is National Indigenous History Month. It’s a month-long celebration dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary history, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people across Canada.
For the past two years, we have been on a journey toward Truth and Reconciliation. We have had the privilege of meeting incredible indigenous authors, including Nicola I. Campbell, Leona Prince, and David A. Robertson; and we’ve learned so much about Coast Salish culture through our Pow Wow Dance Workshops and Coast Salish Art Classes.
Celebrate with us by exploring our free Virtual Classroom, joining our live Coast Salish Art class, or enjoying one of the many on-demand events from our Indigenous Voices series.
Free Virtual Classroom
Our free Indigenous History virtual classroom is filled with informational videos, activities, and a whole library of read-aloud books by indigenous authors for students to explore at home or in the classroom.
