adrienne gear | poetry workshop (2-Part Series)

Recorded live on April 10 & 17, 2025

To celebrate Poetry Month and Earth Day, here is a lesson that combines BOTH themes!  Join BC Teacher and author Adrienne Gear as she leads students in a 2-part virtual poetry writing workshop.

In Session 1, Adrienne will begin with a brief introduction to poetry: what a poem looks like, sounds like, makes us think about, and makes us feel. Next, she will introduce students to personification focusing on objects found in nature.

In Session 2,  it’s time to write! Adrienne will model how to write a haiku poem. Students will be encouraged to choose their own nature inspired topic and try using rich language to write their own haiku about the Earth.

Tune in live or catch the recording at a time that works for your class.
